Women’s Forum

The Arya Samaj Women’s Forum (ASWF) was inaugurated on 13 October 2018 and began its work as a committee on 1 January 2019. The forum supports the advancement of women and is guided by its vision to strengthen the participation and leadership of women in the socioeconomic, cultural and political domains. The primary functions of the ASWF are:

• To develop programmes for the educational, social and economic advancement of women in all stages of life
• To coordinate the contribution of the ASWF with National Imperatives for the advancement of women
• To collaborate with local community-based organisations on programmes for women advancement
• To develop programmes to enhance women leadership in the socioeconomic, cultural and political spheres
• To plan and implement peer mentorship programmes to support women leadership and participation in the socioeconomic, cultural and political environment. 

The Executive Committee collaborates with representatives from the affiliates of the Arya Samaj, to achieve its purpose. In January 2020, the ASWF was permitted inclusion onto the Arya Samaj constitution as an official sub-committee of the Arya Samaj.
