VALUE BASED EDUCATION SERVICES
THE SCHOOL OF VEDIC STUDIES
The School is a project of the Arya Samaj SA which provides the academic training for candidates who are keen to graduate as Vedic priests. The studies are not only for those who want to graduate as priests but also intended as a self-enrichment course for anybody who wants to know more about our glorious Sanathan Dharma. One does not have to know the devanagri script or be able to recite mantras in any great detail as these will be taught throughout the course. All one needs is a matric certificate and a keenness to want to learn. The pace of the course is easily manageable and setting aside a few hours a week will be sufficient to enable one to comfortably manage the course.
The Course comprises six modules, each lasting six months. The subjects covered are as follows, viz. the Practice of Prayer; Funerary Rites; Pre-Natal Sanskars; Lifestyle and Prosperity; the Wedding Ceremony and Community Ministry. Deep questions like what is the nature of the soul; what happens when you die; reincarnation and is wealth a bad thing are all addressed in a very conclusive way by the Course.
The lessons are offered by an experienced group of Tutors, all of whom have passed the 3 year course, and Dr Rambilass, a Sanskrit expert who is also very knowledgeable in Vedic Studies. The School of Vedic Studies is in the process of having the Course accredited through SAQA at NQF level 6.
We also offer Skype lessons to students in Johannesburg; Port Shepstone; Bloemfontein and even as far afield as Germany and Texas. The School caters for candidates from all religious persuasions within the fold of Hinduism. We have students from the Divine Life Society, Sai movement and a number of other temple societies.
The Course equips one with knowledge and understanding to navigate life’s journey in a more confident and positive way.
