The doors of the Narain Jeawon Vedic Centre (NJVC) were opened on 28 May 1993. The primary goal of the NJVC is the upliftment of the community members in Kenville, in Durban by promoting and cultivating social cohesion between cultures and the shared values.
The NJVC facilitates primary health care in partnership with the eThekwini Municipality and University of Kwazulu Natal. Services such as audiology, optometry, occupational therapy, and dental therapy are provided to the adjacent informal settlement dwellers by students of the University of KwaZulu Natal.
Swami Maitreyi is resident at the NJVC and has dedicated her life to serving the community. Activities such as the Daily Havan, Sewing Classes and Computer Literacy are being introduced to the community.
