VEDA DHARMA SABHA PHOENIX

Background

The Veda Dharma Sabha Phoenix was established in 2002 by a few dedicated members under the guidance of Pt Basdeo Bhagirathi at his residence in Sunford, Phoenix. As of last year, an application was made to the municipality for a religious site with the view of building an Ashram in the area.

 

Key Functions Held by the Samaj over the years:

Yajak CourseIn 2018 two students wrote and qualified in the Yajak course. To this date three more students have completed the course and are awaiting their results

Women’s Day: A joint Women’s Day function was held in Northcroft, Phoenix in September 2018. An inspiring and entertaining talk was also provided by our very own Yajak Indira Mohan

Community Address: Being a member of a multi-religious leadership forum, Pt Basdeo Bagirathi delivered an address at there unity summit held at the Stonebridge community Hall on the August 2019, where he encouraged all leaders present, to reach out to the community and assist with many challenges they are faced with, some of which includes substance abuse, crime, violence, theft and corruption.

All are welcomed and are encouraged to join the Samaj for Satsang or partake in our Community Seva Initiatives. The Mundal will always endeavour to promote Vedic Dharma for the well – being of all of mankind
