FLOOD RELIEF

The Arya Samaj SA responded promptly to render assistance to those affected in the devastating Durban floods at the end of the Easter weekend. Clothing, blankets and non-perishable foodstuff were distributed to victims in Bottlebrush Shallcross, Malagazi, Reservoir Hills and Welbedacht. The Samaj also served hot meals at the Isipingo transit camp. Numerous communities were in need of help and the contribution of blankets and food were a small contribution in bringing back dignity to those affected.

Swami Vedanand Saraswati and Swami Maitreyi offered words of comfort and hope to those who lost so much in the deluge and mudslides. We at the Samaj pray for the well- being of all our fellow beings who fall prey to situations like this. It was heart-warming to see a unified community assisting each other in times of need. Members and well- wishers of the Arya Samaj community dug deep into their pockets and donated generously for the purchase of blankets and other non-perishable items.
